That got better after a year or two, but it's still kinda poor user experience that half the time some weird problem will be because I ran an update without first thinking to seek out a Link update that I didn't know existed.
Or give me an inexplicable error, with no mention of why it had tried to run itself in the first place. When it first started popping up on my computer without me realizing I had even installed it (wasn't running Universe), it would usually open at random, unbidden, and then immediately crash. I know it's not your fault, but I can see you guys do want to listen to the community, so here goes: While we're talking, I figure I might as well explain why I'm so grumpy with Red Giant lately.

Ie., as if they're set to full on over life. It's rendering as if they don't exist as well. Here's a screenshot and you can see those two properties are just inexplicably gone.

The only thing I can think is that you perhaps added a second system that inherits from the master system. Can you post an image that shows those properties missing? I just tried opening an old project, migrated them and everything is there. It was actually a feature added recently to make things less garbage: why make you click all the things when A) it can look at see what you have and B) it should manage it for you anyway?īut, the missing properties is curious. It's for this reason the latest installer doesn't give you the choice, as it does an autodetect of your current version(s) and installs it in the correct place. That's just how things work in the AE plug-in world. So, even if you installed Particular 2.6 and Particular 3.0, gave them two different names, in different subfolders, AE would see them as the same plugin and error, disabling one of them.
